As a not-for-profit, independent public charity, the Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of educators, business and professional people who share a common interest in fostering international understanding and cooperation. Several of the Trustees have made major donations to the Foundation in recent years.

The Trustees meet regularly to review the effectiveness and quality of the Foundation's programs and to approve grant requests from institutions and individuals.

Donations and gifts to further the work of the Foundation are deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent allowed by law.
